NG Bailey, one of the UK’s largest building services providers, has negotiated a £13million contract to fit out 10 new office buildings on the largest speculatively-built office park scheme in the UK.
Work has already started on the 756,000 sq ft Maxim Office Park development for TAL CPT, which neighbours the Eurocentral Business Park in North Lanarkshire and incorporates 10 office buildings over 65 acres.
Bailey Building Services have been tasked with designing, supplying, installing and testing the mechanical and electrical building services, which include the use of prefabricated electrical risers, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling systems, prefabricated dry risers and modular wiring systems.
Situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow, Maxim Office Park will achieve a ‘very good’ BREEAM rating through the use of sustainable technologies. Examples of these include the use of high performance glazing, which is designed to reduce solar heat gain in all buildings, as well as the use of energy efficient light fittings which control lighting during daylight.
The team behind the Maxim Office Park project, which is due for completion in March 2010, consists of main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland , Architect Keppie Design, M&E Consultant, Hulley & Kirkwood and Civil/Structural Engineers, Struer.
Mark Andrews, chief executive at NG Bailey, said: “This is a really exciting project for us and it is fantastic to be working with Bowmer & Kirkland on their largest project to date. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our capabilities in sustainable building services technology and when complete, Maxim Office Park will be a fantastic example of the way commercial properties will be developed in the future.”
NG Bailey provides the construction industry and its clients with mechanical, electrical, ICT, off-site manufacture, interiors, systems integration and maintenance services.
